HMS Test & Inspection  Limited. was incorporated in May 2007 to provide not only test and inspection services to clients but additional services such as:- design of lifting equipment, expertise in rigging and slinging of large or awkward loads, examinations, inspections and testing in the field of forensic engineering either to determine the root cause of a failure or to improve a design. Health and Safety training in various fields such as fall arrest, working at height, ladder safety equipment inspection risk assessment and method statement preparation.

 

Mr. P. Lessiter B.Sc. MFSSoc MIOSH is the Managing Director of the company; he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and

has postgraduate qualifications in Forensic Engineering,

Safety, Health and Environmental Management.

He is a member of the Forensic Science Society, on the

Register of Expert Witnesses and is an Graduate Member of

the Institute of  Occupational Safety and Health. His

experience  is both wide ranging and extensive having spent

time in the  military, mechanical, hydraulic and marine engineering fields. He has been an expert witness in a case involving the failure of a ladder, has investigated and written several reports on failures or accidents for the health and safety executive and clients.

 

HMS Test & Inspection Ltd. is situated at the Solent Business Centre, Millbrook Southampton. when training is carried out here there is a dedicated training facility and a fully equipped cafeteria where meals or snacks may be purchased. Depending on facilities and type of course being undertaken courses can be carried out at client’s establishments. We are also able to carry out inspections, risk assessments and method statements in order for clients to comply with the Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations, The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations and carry out a fire risk assessment and log book production.
